A note on what Lumiden is — and isn't

Lumiden is a companion app for people on GLP-1 medications. It helps you log injections, notice patterns, and think out loud about how your body is responding. It’s a quiet place to keep track of your journey.

Lumiden is not a medical device

It doesn’t diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It is not a substitute for a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or any other licensed healthcare provider. Nothing Lumiden shows you — checklists, notifications, AI chat replies, articles, cost guides — is medical advice.

Your prescriber is the person making the medical decisions

Lumiden remembers what you tell it; your prescriber knows your full history. If anything in Lumiden disagrees with what your prescriber has told you, your prescriber is right.

The AI chat is a general-knowledge assistant, not a clinician

Talk it through is helpful for “what does this feel like for other people,” “is this a normal thing to expect,” or “help me put words to what I’m noticing.” It is not helpful for “should I take my dose tonight,” “is this rash dangerous,” or “what medication should I be on.” For those, please reach your care team.

Specific things Lumiden will not do

  • Tell you how much medication to take
  • Tell you to skip, delay, or change a dose
  • Interpret a lab result, EKG, or scan
  • Diagnose a symptom
  • Recommend starting or stopping any medication
  • Tell you a symptom is safe to ignore

If you notice any of these, contact your prescriber or seek urgent care — don’t ask Lumiden

  • Severe stomach pain that doesn’t pass, especially pain that radiates to your back
  • Vomiting that won’t stop or you can’t keep fluids down for more than a few hours
  • Signs of a severe allergic reaction — swelling of the face, lips, or throat; trouble breathing; hives all over
  • Severe headache, chest pain, fainting, sudden vision changes, or sudden weakness on one side
  • Signs of low blood sugar (especially if you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea) — shakiness, sweating, confusion, fast heartbeat
  • Pain in the upper right abdomen, especially with yellowing of skin or eyes
  • A possible pregnancy
  • Any symptom that feels urgent or wrong

About the data Lumiden collects

See our Privacy Policy for what we store, where, and for how long. The short version: your health information stays on your device. AI chat messages travel to Anthropic so a model can reply, and are not stored on Lumiden’s servers.

About affiliate links

Some product or program links in Lumiden (especially in the Cost Guide) earn Lumiden a small commission if you enroll. This costs you nothing extra and helps fund the app’s development. We rank cards by what’s likely most useful to you, never by what pays Lumiden the most.
